I enjoyed the class very much. The information received will be very useful for what I do. I am currently a Crime Analyst but am a retired police Lt. Learning how to search on line is something that will help me quite a bit with my research for suspects and other information. One of the best things that will come in handy for case studies that I do is the SPLASH SCREEN. We are in the middle of a major homicide case and this will help organize my information better. The instructor was good and presented well. There was a lot of information presented and at times I got a little lost....mostly handler error.

The class focused on more rudimentary aspects of online crime such as craiglist, backpage, setting up gmail, etc. More advanced portions of investigation procedures were just skimmed over such as actually tracing an ip address through the isp to the address of the subscriber and identifying the imac number for finding the particular device used. I really could have used information on tracing user profiles through facebook, myspace, instagram, etc. I was also really interested in bitcoin and the dark web. they were only briefly mentioned towards the end. The class was entertaining and I learned a useful tool in google voice but I could have used much more information on more advanced processes of online investigations.

It would be helpful if the handout materials followed the order of the lecture and the topics covered. This reduce the student trying to shuffle through the handout materials trying to catch up.

The issue that I had with Mark is that I am a VERY linear person. I don't believe that Mark is. When he jumped from one subject to the next and back again it was distracting to me. I felt that he knew the material - our styles are just very different.

The only thing I noticed is that we didn't really use the handouts.
