Ashley did great teaching the class. I would recommend the class be at least 3-days. Also, I would have the students do more repetition to learn and comprehend material being taught.

Great class. I recommended that all of our Detectives attend this class.

The booklet hand out instruction was not very intuitive.

Excellent course taught by an awesome instructor. As you are aware the class could use an extra day. Great information that I have already used on case investigations.

While I understand the instructor does not teach or use directionality or distance in mapping cell sites it would be good to see how to instructor would do this in order to see another method in mapping this information if we choose to use it. I do not believe that this info can be ignored in an investigation. Perhaps remove the section of the class on encryption and passwords as it is not relevant to the other material taught and replace with mapping directionality and distance. Other than that the class was great!!

Great course, I learned a lot. Ashley was enthusiastic and broke cell phone mapping down to a workable format.

Instructor was knowledgeable and the course handbook will be especially helpful in the future.

Much of the content on day 2 was not related to cell phone data. I would have preferred spending more time working on the Excel files received from the cell service providers, especially since they can be very different based on the provider. I think it would be useful to do the same exercises/file clean-up for a data set from each provider: Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile/Metro.

This class was very fast paced. There was a lot of information in a very short period of time. I was only vaguely familiar with Excel and therefore made it difficult to keep up. I think the class would benefit from refresher after coming back from lunch and the morning of the second day which would reinforce what was taught before moving on to the next. I also think this class would benefit by adding one more day with hands on - trial and error with work product (cell records) brought by the student. I think I would have benefited from using cell records I obtained from a previous investigation and worked through each of the tasks Ashley taught. Overall...I enjoyed this class and believe all the information was useful. I returned to work the next day and trying to remember all that was taught. I have already referred this class to fellow colleagues.

Very interesting and well put together class. I like how the instructor used an investigated case as an outline for presenting the class materials. I also enjoyed the use of humor. What I would like to see, which I did not think about until class was over, is the report writing format used after doing the CDR and mapping analysis.

The Microsoft Excel tools were very useful. I would like to follow the workbook for better note taking and for future reference. I would like a pre and post course. A pre-course with Microsoft Excel basics and Search Warrant writing. A post-course with cell phone access tools.

I previously had some training from Mark Dobbs who I believe used to teach this course, or one like it. Ashley did a great job supplementing what I had already learned and taught useful, practical skills that appealed to investigators and analysts alike. I would love to see the class be longer to allow him to provide even more information and knowledge. I think showing not just one set of phone records, but records from many providers would have been very helpful as that was the one thing I feel I really didn't get from the class. I appreciate using a case to guide the class as it gives the lessons purpose rather than just throwing information at students. I would love to see some sort of forum set up for classes to facilitate students to stay in communication. I would have also loved to have the learning slides available for download. Overall it was a terrific class and I have already recommended it to other analysts I know.

This was a great class. It could have easily continued for at least one more day to allow for more hands on analysis.

The material as a whole was very useful in learning how to manage and analyze phone records.The topics that were most beneficial for me were: cell sites, data sets, specific functions within Excel, mapping cell sites, as well as understanding Google Voice and magicJack.

Instructor was entertaining and informative, perhaps put a disclaimer in the class flyer stating "Basic Excel Understanding Suggested."
