This class had some good basic introductory information, but some of the links provided for Dark Web pages were old. There was also some good introductory investigative information, but there was no additional information on how to actually proceed with these investigations.

This class was a decent introduction, but it was basically an introduction in the sense that everyone just played around with the websites on their own. There wasn't a directed investigation at all.

Instructor was not engaging with class. He had no control over class and lost interest with students from the get go. His energy level to sustain the students attention.

I did not see any local application for the training. Understanding that I can order Meth from someone outside of the US does not have much local application. On a worldwide chat application, 67 people where logged in to chat, 40 of them where in the room with me.

Coming into this class I had used TOR browser and navigated through various dark web marketplaces during a couple previous investigations. I didn't learn anything new and was disappointed with the class. We mostly spent time in chat rooms and looking through marketplaces on our own. The entire second day was a waste of time as we really didn't do anything that we hadn't covered on day one. The instruction on Bitcoin was very basic. I already had a decent understanding of Bitcoin and didn't learn anything helpful. Floiran was a nice enough guy, but his presentation of the material was scattered...almost like this wasn't his normal presentation/he was presenting someone else's material.

This course was focused primarily on those who would USE the dark web for investigative purposes. Although I found it interesting to know, I would not USE what I learned conducting background investigations.

I think the instructor had a lot of knowledge on the Dark Web but his delivery was not presented well. Most of the class was just sitting looking at our computer to see what we could find on the Dark Web. There was not much interaction with the instructor or the class. The handout did not follow the PowerPoint. There was just a lot of dead time over the course of the two days. I think with restructuring and maybe a different instructor this could be a valuable class.

Fantastic course. The instructor was excellent and provided many different means of teaching, which kept the entire topic very interesting. In my office, we have 5 forensic examiners, however, for me this was great information to have in my investigations. Thanks for bringing this course to our area.

The course was very interesting but it felt like there should have been more. Much of the time we were asked to surf the Dark Web on our own and attempt interaction with chat rooms or sellers. Although the experience was useful, there was too much time allocated to this. I thought there could have been a lot more content discussed. I assume there is plenty more to learn about the Dark Web and how we can utilize it for investigations. Class Materials: The handout was pretty basic. If students are bringing laptops anyway, why not have digital reference materials, useful Dark Web links, and investigative tips available to use for download. Students can be asked to bring a flash drive, in addition to the laptop if needed, so they have the opportunity to download material. I still liked the class and thought it was a good introductory class. I just think it could have been even better with more content and less freestyle surfing.

This was the very basic of an introductory to this topic. For anyone involved in online investigations this probably was not all that helpful. The instructor, while a nice guy, didn't have much of a dynamic presentation that would invoke questions and start discussions. It was not explained how this could be useful to the average investigator/officer attending the class. The course should not be titled, "Dark Web Investigations". This was not about conducting a Dark Web Investigation.

My issue is not with the content of the course, but the angle at which it was presented in the description. I was under the assumption the course was going to be an investigative course in the dark web, but in reality it was nothing more than a guided tour. I don't have any issue with the course if it had been titled "Introduction to the Dark Web: A Guided Tour." I still learned a lot about the dark web and how it is constructed that I didn't know before, but there were no investigative techniques taught or how the info was gathered or how it can be applied to an investigation. I know there were some software programs offered to help investigators with computer forensic investigations, but I was there for dark web training. Also, the instructor was very knowledgeable, but he continued to pause waiting for class interaction and it really ruined the flow of the course. He just needs to present the material and stop trying to force class interaction. There were a lot of silences where students were just listening or scrolling through the web and would rather hear his info.

I didn't learn any useful information or how to investigate potential crimes via the Dark Web. The only thing of value I walked away with is downloading the Tor browser on my computer to surf the Dark Web. This is a very much an intro class to the Dark Web. Experienced investigators will not benefit from this class.
