I found the class very informative, however, the course description on the POST website was misleading. I attended the class to better lean investigative techniques, best practices, best evidence, etc. The primary focus of the class turned out to be OneNote and PowerPoint. Although I was very impressed with OneNote and would love to use it, my agencies IT will not install it.

Course was good. The wi-fi in the building was somewhat an issue (not working for everyone). I think I could have used more training time on OneNote and power point.

The only improvement I can recommend is to focus more on the OIS investigation itself versus how to present the incident. Since I have 0 experience in critical incident investigations, I was hoping to learn more on how to conduct the investigation and the process of it. I learned a lot with the Powerpoint and Onenote but I would have liked to focus more on the investigation itself. With that being said, Chris is an awesome instructor though. And it wasn't a wasted training because I can use a lot of the presentation items in my day to day work.

The first part of the class was phenomenal! The second part focused on presentation of the case which was a lot of "how to" with Powerpoint. I know that is a vital part of any case, the presentation. I just wish we could have focused a little more on the actual investigation itself. Still a good course and I got a lot out of it that I will use. Maybe it needs to be 3-5 days instead of 2. Lots to cover.
