This is a good course, but online is just not conducive to a lot of learners. I got some things out of it, but will most likely need to redo this training or go to a different one, in person, to truly retain the information.

The reason for the lower scores in certain categories do not necessarily reflect the instructor or Police Technical. The instructor had a great knowledge and experience in Officer Involved Shooting investigations and was able to teach the subject in an efficient manner for a webinar based platform. I feel this course would be an incredible tool if taught in person; however, due to events outside of anybody's control due to the pandemic, I feel the course did not have as much instruction/impact that it would if it were to be in person.

The class material was really informative and great information that I can take back to my agency and use if we are involved in an officer involved shooting investigation. I enjoyed the class overall but the only thing I would change would to make the class longer and spend more time going in depth into conducting an actual investigation more thoroughly.

This was the third O.I.S. course I've attended since 2009; and the second in the past 13 months. With that said, the material presented was in line with what I am familiar with. The provided handouts that I received is very similar to the ones used by my agency. Overall...I found the class to be a good refresher.

This was a good course for the COVID era. Unfortunately online courses seem to be the norm now but this class was interactive with the students though several students had technical issues. Good questions and issues brought up in this course. Very informative and offered an outside view on how other agencies work these cases.

Considering this was a webinar, I was impressed with how interactive the instructor was with the class participants. Chris Fusetti has varying perspectives of OIS, which he presents from the investigator, the crime scene investigator, supervisory, to media relations (PIO), etc. I appreciated that he presented from these different perspectives. I would have liked the course be a little longer to go into the various aspects of OIS a little deeper. Overall, the course was good. Thank you

Good information provided. Most of what the instructor is doing is already what our department is doing so not much of it was new. The shoot team master document was a good break down and will be able to use that. As an instructor myself I tried to participate when available since this was a tough class in which class participation seemed lacking. The instructor would call on people to get feedback but many question were asked and there was no response.

Chris seemed very knowledgeable in the OIS investigations section due to his prior experience and training. I think most of all this class showed how differently these particular investigations are conducted throughout the US. I think the OneNote and the Powerpoint Splash Screen could be very beneficial to use in our investigations.

Great course. Good initial overview for someone new to the OIS world. I think the online platform made interaction hard and that was not always the fault of the instructor. The online platform is hard when having to manage all the attendees.

Very Basic. This class is obviously set up for somebody who has never participated in an OIS investigation. Would have loved to seen or learned more advanced investigative techniques. Like the One Note and PowerPoint on day 2 but would have really liked more time on how those are set up and building these presentation, the creation part of these two pieces instead of just the functionality of them.

The instructor was very informative and easy to understand and follow with his presentation. I feel this class is a bit hard to teach across the country since it is partially based on dept. policies which differ and collective bargaining issues. I feel a few more handouts might have been helpful along with the full PowerPoint to refresh everyone's memory from what was learned in this class. Maybe a few more direct OIS real interviews only hitting a few areas in each interview would have been helpful to show real-life scenarios. Overall, I feel I still received some good info, the instructor was very good, and considering it is always difficult to do a virtual class, it was worth it and will be useful for me and to bring back to my team.

There were some technical difficulties because of the class being on the computer but overall it was very good. I did have an issue when the instructor talked about "choke holds" but because the class was not about that topic I did not take up class time to voice my opinion on the issue. The instructor said that "choke holds are bad and should only be used if it's a life or death situation of which I agree, however we (Washington State) are not taught "choke holds" we are taught LVNR holds of which work very well and are low on the force continuum scale. My problem is when people use the word "choke hold" to describe LVNR (Lower Vascular Neck Restraint) which cuts off the blood flow to the brain, NOT AIR Flow. I along with many officers in my department have been using LVNR for many years with no issues. It is a very useful and safe technique of which has a very short term effect on the person it's being administered to and keeps the use of force continuum lower. I understand the media using the word "choke hold" because they don't know any better or don't care, but Law Enforcement should never use the word "choke hold" unless it is an actual "choke hold". I would hate to loose LVNR because people think it's a "choke hold" when actually it's a very safe technique when trained and use properly.
