Mark Stephens is a Detective with the Platte County Missouri Sheriff’s Department. A 24-year law enforcement veteran he began his career with a Sheriff’s Department in the Kansas City area. During his tenure with the department, Mr. Stephens was assigned to develop the departments well known Cyber Crimes Unit. He is a pioneer in the Cyber Crimes Community and conducted hundreds of proactive online investigations. Mr. Stephens has a wealth of experience having been a SWAT operator, FTO, Narcotics Detective, Homicide Detective and property crimes Detective. He has consulted and worked with numerous Federal, State and Local agencies.
Mr. Stephens is a highly decorated officer with the majority of his career being spent in the Investigations Division. Mr. Stephens has participated in hundreds of undercover operations involving online investigations, murder for hire, and narcotics. Mr. Stephens most recently created a mobile computer system which automates case management for use in major Homicide Investigations.
